Session Outline

Session 1

Approx Time:
4-5 hours

  • Understanding project browser and properties windows and general settings
  • How to set up a new project
  • Using a template file to copy settings and learning how to modify settings
  • Copy Grid lines and levels from architectural model
  • Creating views (floor plans, RCPs structural plans and plan regions)
  • Copy elements and properties between projects.
  • Linking in Revit models and aligning

Session 2

Approx Time:
4-5 hours

  • Review and recap on question related to last session
  • Creating views using call outs, scope boxes, creating a parameter view classification parameter to organize views into categories
  • Annotating – Create new annotations for different purposes (dimension styles and test styles)
  • Tagging elements and modifying tags
  • Copy project settings from old project to new project
  • Duplicate and modify view templates
  • Placing elements and using sections to modify placement
  • Connecting pipe to create paps vs tees.
  • Applying the correct system description to the pipe

Session 3

Approx Time:
4-5 hours

  • Review and recap on questions related to previous sessions
  • Drawing and detailing risers (combined systems or standalone sprinkler systems)

Session 4

Approx Time:
4-5 hours

  • Review and recap on question related to previous sessions
  • Sheets- How to make your own sheets in Revit- How to make a custom parameter within your sheet (drawing status)
  • Placing Views on sheets and referencing split views
  • Create a cover page with drawing schedule and revisions.
  • Creating general notes and legend of symbols for insertion on all sheets

Session 5

Approx Time:
4-5 hours

  • Review and recap on questions related to previous sessions
  • Create custom sprinkler parameters for scheduling & insert schedule on sheets
  • Creating 3D views to coordinate with. Creating a 3D view to annotate and insert on a sheet.
  • Using mitered pipe
  • Connecting sprinkler on a sloped pipe
  • Changing and applying different pipe ends‍Session

Session 6

Approx Time:
4-5 hours
Optional Extra

  • Review and recap on questions related to previous sessions
  • Fabricating (listing pipe) Hydrant system and sprinkler systems
  • Creating an install drawing
  • Creating details for installation
